CSWN Organizes Media Roundtable
Christian Solidarity Worldwide Nigeria has organised a media roundtable with journalists from the northern states of Nigeria, with a particular interest in forceful abduction, forceful conversion and marriage of young Christian girls as its central theme.
The engagement which held in Kaduna state from 19th July 2021 to 21st also received situation reports from the journalists on violations of Freedom of Religion or Belief (FoRB), witnessed in their respective states.
The issues, seen mainly in northern Nigeria, according to their reports, include denial of permits to build places of worship, refusal to employ teachers to teach Christian religion knowledge in some public schools, discrimination against Christian in the civil service, among others.The engagement also resolves to conduct state-wide research on abduction and forceful conversion of Christian girls with the aim of unearthing the factors making such practice to flourish.
The media engagement is an annual meeting that brings together media friends of CSWN from all northern states to discuss violations that affect Christians.
